Install TWRP on Xiaomi phones

STEP 1: Download ADB / Fastboot – Android SDK Platform Tools package and install on your computer.
STEP 2: After that, you need to connect your Xiaomi phone to the computer using a USB cable.
STEP 3: Now from the links attached above, download TWRP and then save it into the same directory as the extracted adb.exe and fastboot.exe files.
STEP 4: Navigate to the same location in which you downloaded your fastboot in step 1. For Windows: Open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt). For Mac OS X and Linux, use Terminal to navigate to this directory.
STEP 5: There, you need to type in the command
adb reboot bootloader and then press Enter.
STEP 6: This will make your phone boot into the bootloader mode also known as the fastboot mode.
STEP 7: As soon as your phone is booted into the bootloader mode, key in the following command and proceed by pressing enter:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP-FILE-NAME.imgt
NOTE: Be informed that you need to change TWRP-FILE-NAME.img to the actual filename of the TWRP recovery file that you have downloaded.
STEP 8: Once the TWRP recovery is successfully flashed on your device, key in the
fastboot reboot command in bootloader mode.
STEP 9: Now your phone will shut down. As soon as it does, press and hold Power + Volume Up buttons at the same time in order to boot your phone into TWRP recovery directly and to patch the recovery permanently. Otherwise, you will have to go through the flashing process again.
