Flash Pre-Rooted Stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM on Sony Xperia Z Ultra [Customized US]

Xperia Z Ultra already received the latest stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update but if you have installed a custom recovery/modified systems files or have rooted your phone then you’ll not be able to get the official firmware version on Xperia Z Ultra over-the-air (OTA). So if you have Xperia Z Ultra and want to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop official firmware then follow the given guide to install this firmware even you have a rooted device or have a custom recovery installed. This flashable ROM is based on stock firmware build 14.6.A.0.368 and you’ll be required to have a custom recovery like TWRP in order to install it. This firmware has root access as it is pre-rooted and there is nothing to worry about flashing the SuperSU package again.

This firmware is customized for Sony Xperia Z Ultra model number C6806 (US variant) and will take your device to version 14.6.A.0.368. This ROM also removes the carrier brand and no other changes have been made to the core system of the ROM and it is very close to the stock FTP with minor changes to make it a zip file.

Install Stock Customized Rooted Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM on Sony Xperia Z Ultra

This guide containing instructions and download links are compatible only with the Sony Xperia Z Ultra C6806 model. Do not try to install this Customized firmware on any other device or incorrect variant.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Create a proper backup of all your existing data and settings before proceeding to the installation guide using a recommended custom recovery.
  • Download and install Sony Xperia Z Ultra on the PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on your phone by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
  • The latest version of a custom recovery should be installed on it.
  • Make sure that the battery level of your device should be charged at least about 80%.

Steps to Flash Rooted Stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM on Sony Xperia Z Ultra:

1:- Download the rooted and customized Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM (C6806_Customized US_14.6.A.0.368.zip) for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra from the above given link on the desktop of your PC.

2:- Move the downloaded .zip file to the root folder of the internal storage of your phone.

3:- Turn Off the Xperia Z Ultra in order to boot into recovery mode (TWRP).

4:- Turn the phone On while pressing and holding Volume Down + Power buttons at the same time to enter into TWRP recovery.

5:- Take a nandroid backup:

  • Tap on backup option in TWRP
  • Select System, Data, Boot, Recovery, EFS
  • Swipe right and choose a location to save backup.

6:- Go back to the main recovery menu and tap the Wipe button.

7:- Select Advanced Wipe > Dalvik CacheSystemData, and Cache. Swipe right to confirm.

8:- Now tap on Install option and locate the ROM file where you have saved it previously. Select it.

9:- Start the installation process and wait for its completion.

10:- Once the ROM is installed successfully, reboot to system.

Done! You have successfully installed rooted stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM on your Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
