How to Sync Android Contacts with Gmail Account

When you need to sync contacts with Gmail account? Whenever you want to root/update the firmware of your phone. Because while updating the firmware or rooting the device, you’re at risk to damage data files, SMS, and contacts that could get corrupted or lost. For example, if you’ve already backed up / synced your contacts from the Android phone and then you’ve changed the ROM, selected factory reset or you’ve rooted the phone then you will be required to sync again the Gmail account to restore all the phone numbers. Before getting started, make sure that your Contacts are linked with the Gmail Account.

Step 1: First, open Contacts.

Step 2: Now, press the Menu/ Settings button.

Step 3: Select “Merge with Google” and then confirm the action. In case you have more than one Gmail accounts then select the one you wish to use as default to host your contacts.

Note: Select the one Gmail account that you wish to use as default (If you have more than one Gmail accounts)

A pop-up message will appear once everything has been successfully merged.

How to Sync Contacts with Gmail Account:

Step 1: Remember that Gmail must be installed on your device.

Step 2: Now, launch the App Drawer.

Step 3: Navigate to Settings and then go to “Accounts and Sync”.

Step 4: Enable the Accounts and syncing service.

Step 5: From the e-mail accounts setup, select your Gmail account.

Step 6: Ensure that “Sync Contacts” option is enabled.

Step 7: Next, press “Sync now” button to synchronize contacts with your Gmail account. Wait until all the phone contacts have been synchronized successfully.

Step 8: Launch Gmail on the web browser of your PC. and click the Gmail text link that is listed on the upper left side of the Gmail profile.

Step 9: Click the Gmail text link that is listed on the upper left side of the Gmail profile.

Step 10: Finally, choose Contacts and you will see a page containing all the contacts from your Android smartphone have been stored.
