In this post, we will be discussing LineageOS for Asus ZenFone 8 and Poco X3 NFC. LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROMs based on the Android operating system. It is an operating system for smartphone which primarily makes use of open source and free software. It is was previously known as CyanogenMod.

LineageOS provides an up to date Android experience and is popular for it’s stock Android experience. LineageOS custom ROMs are available for a lot of Android devices out there.

Back in March, the developers behind LineageOS released LineageOS 18.1 which was based on Android 11. The LineageOS version 18.1 is the latest version of the custom ROM until now and the LineageOS developers have released build for many Android devices.

These devices include famous handsets such as Redmi Note 10 Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro and the devices from the Google Pixel 4 series. Also, some lesser known devices have also received LineageOS 18.1 such as Walmart’s Onn and Dynalink Android TV boxes.

Recently, the developers released LineageOS for Asus ZenFone 8, Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, POCO X3 NFC, SHIFT SHIFT6mq, and Sony Xperia Z2. The supported LineageOS 18.1 builds for these devices are out now.

Instructions

Before you install the LineageOS for Asus ZenFone 8 or any of the other above mentioned devices, you should have the bootloader on your device unlocked and you also need to have a custom recovery installed, such as TWRP. Further, you should keep in mind that Google Apps (GApps) are not a part of custom ROMs, so you will also have to install GApps if you have to use them. In addition to that, do not forget to take a device backup before you install the ROM, just to be on the safe side.
