Samsung has never failed to amaze it’s users with its smartphones and the remarkable qualities attributed to them. Be it there high end phones, mid range or low budget series’, they never disappoint users. An important aspect of this success is there signature Android skin, OneUI. At the time of writing, the current version of the OneUI is 2.1. The current version shows that Samsung is still working on their software. This means that OneUI 3.0 is expected to be released which will be based on Android 11.
OneUI is Samsung’s latest Android skin, succeeding the previous Samsung interface, TouchWiz and Samsung’s Experience UI. OneUI is basically a software overlay, or as the name suggests, a user interface developed by the Samsung Smartphone company for its Android devices based on Android 9 (Pie) or higher. Its primary purpose is to make it easier and more convenient for users to use larger phones and to improve the overall experience. Although OneUI does not provide a pure Android experience as good as the Oxygen OS, but it would be very appropriate to say that it is one of the best Android skins out there.
The flagship series’ from Samsung always receive timely updates and all of the updates are well managed by Samsung. Unfortunately that is not the case for Samsung’s low budget phones. Samsung guarantees updates for 2 years on their phones. Occasionally, updates for the low end phones are forgotten. Sometimes the low budget phones only get one major update of the time period and no more. Isn’t that unfair? The question is, whether Samsung will do the same for the OneUI 3.0 update? OneUI 3.0 Expected features:
OneUI is Samsung’s Android skin which has been successful from the start since it replaced Samsung’s TouchWiz. It is well liked by users because it includes many aspects from Android and additional features and utilities by Samsung, such as Samsung’s Knox security. Users appreciate the introduction of OneUI as it has greatly improved their experience of using a Samsung device. With the introduction of OneUI 3.0, we can expect a large enhancement in performance via smoother transitions between different applications, lesser bugs and an overall faster experience.
As there is no official announcement regarding OneUI 3.0 by Samsung, we do not know what new features it will bring. But for now, we can be absolutely sure that it will contain all the essential characteristics of Android 11 and all the additional features that Samsung has provided with OneUI 2. All the features of the OneUI 3.0 will only be known when the stable update is officially launched by Samsung in October 2020.
Android 11 New Features?
The developer version for the Android 11 has been unveiled and various OEMs have even made this update available as a beta version for Android 11. The Google Pixel was the first device to receive the update followed by other phones. Through the release of the developer version of the Android 11, we have deduced the integral features of Android 11.
An improved notification shade:
How do categorized notifications sound to you? Now all of your notifications will be displayed in the notification menu in an organized manner. What’s more? It will also keep a notification history so if you swipe a notification and you want to see it later, you can check it.
Better security in terms of permissions:
Security for you will be increased because now apps will only be granted limited access to location, personal information, camera and others. You will also be given the facility of granting permission to apps only when you are using them.
Sending images from the notification shade:
On Android phones, it is possible to reply to text messages directly from the notification shade without opening the application itself. Until now, it was only possible to reply with text. But on Android 11, you would also be able to send images.
Bluetooth in Airplane Mode:
This feature means that you would be able to use your Bluetooth earphones even with your device on Aeroplane mode. This feature will prove useful because most of the new devices are being released without a headphone jack.
Apart from these new features, other simpler yet useful features will also be observed such as high refresh rate screens, better support for foldable and curved displays, headphone audio codec support and much more.
