  • It is highly recommended to make a proper backup of your contacts, messages, photos, videos, and other valuable data on your phone.
  • Make sure that your Galaxy M40 is on Android 8.0 Oreo firmware.
  • The battery level of your phone should be at least up to 70% to avoid unexpected shutdowns while rooting.
  • Enable USB Debugging on your phone by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
  • Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your PC.

Steps to Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy M40:

Step 1:- First, install TWRP Recovery and Odin tool on your PC from the above-given link.

Step 2:- Extract the download Odin tool and run ODIN v3.11.1 exe file as an Administrator.

Step 3:- Now Reboot your phone into Download Mode. To do so, first power OFF your phone, then press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons until you see a download mode.

Step 4:- Now connect your Galaxy J7 to PC using its USB data cable.

Step 5:- Once the USB cable is connected, a blue sign in Odin will appear (also make sure the COM: xx (xx is USB port number it can be any number so don’t worry about it, just verify COM is lit up)

Step 6:- Browse and locate the TWRP Recovery .tar file that you have already downloaded from Above by Clicking AP/PDA button and load it in Odin.

Step 7:- Next, make sure that the re-partition option is NOT ticked. Also, Uncheck the Auto Reboot if you installing for the first time.

Step 8:- Click the start button, sit back, and wait a few seconds until you see a message pass. Once you see PASS, reboot your Galaxy M40 into recovery by holding  POWER + HOME + VOLUME UP.

Done! You have installed TWRP Recovery on your phone.
