How To Root Galaxy Note 7 N930S on KSU1BPHA Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The latest KSU1BPHA Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow official firmware has been rolled out recently for the Galaxy Note 7. If you have not yet upgraded your device to this official Marshmallow firmware then we have already shared a detailed guide to install KSU1BPHA Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on Galaxy Note 7 N930S. Now we have a step-by-step guide on how to root this official Marshmallow firmware on your Note 7. Thanks to Chainfire for providing the SuperSU package which is working on N930S variants. All you need to have the latest version of a custom recovery such a TWRP pre-installed on your Galaxy Note 7 in order to flash CF-SuperSU package.

Once the device is rooted, the default factory restrictions will be removed and you’ll get access to tons of third-party apps, custom recoveries, custom ROMs and will be able to use enhanced battery life. Keep in mind that rooting is an unofficial operation that will void your device’s warranty. If you are interested then go ahead and proceed to the rooting guide but don’t forget to make proper backup of all your existing data, in case anything goes wrong then you’ll be able to restore your data.

How To Root Galaxy Note 7 N930S using SuperSU

Note:

This guide can be used to root the Galaxy Note 7 SM-N930S running on KSU1BPHA Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow official firmware. Do not try on any other device or incorrect variant. Verify the model number of your phone first.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Create a proper backup of all the existing data and settings of your Galaxy Note 7.
  • Verify that you’ve properly installed the Galaxy Note 7 USB Drivers on the PC.
  • Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Galaxy Note 7 by navigate to Settings > Developer Options > check the USB Debugging option.
  • The latest version of a custom recovery must be installed on Galaxy Note 7.
  • Check the battery level of your Galaxy Note 7, it should be charged at least about 80% before proceeding to the installation guide.

Steps to Root Note 7 N930S on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow using CF Auto-Root Package:

1:- Download Chainfire’s SuperSU root app (BETA-SuperSU-v2.77-20160827190633.zip) on the desktop of your PC.

2:- Plug the Galaxy Note 7 with the PC using its USB data cable.

3:- Transfer SuperSU zip package to the root folder of internal storage SD card of the phone.

4:- Once the SuperSU file, disconnect the phone from the PC and reboot the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 into the Recovery Mode and the custom recovery image then loads on the display.

5:- While the Galaxy Note 7 is Recovery Mode, take the NANDroid backup from the Recovery menu by tapping on the backup button.

6:- From the Recovery Menu, select “Install” option and then follow the on-screen prompts and locate the SD card to find the SuperSU package.

7:- Confirm the SuperSU installation by swiping at the bottom of the display to begin.

8:- Once the SuperSU package is flashed successfully, choose the “Reboot” option followed by the “System” option from the Recovery menu.

Done! You have rooted Galaxy Note 7 N930S running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow by flashing SuperSU by Chainfire. Go to app drawer and now can find SuperSU there.
