Pre-Requirements:

- Enable USB Debugging on your phone by navigating to Settings > Developer Options.
- Download and install OnePlus USB Drivers on your PC.

Steps to Install TWRP Recovery And Root OnePlus 7T:
Step 1:
First, download and install the USB drivers for OnePlus 7T from here.
Step 2:
Now open the Settings app on your phone and then go to the About phone option. Now scroll till the last and then tap on the Build number value multiple times until it says that the developer options are unlocked.
Step 3:
Now go back to the main settings app page and then open Developer options and enable USB debugging and the OEM unlocking options.
Step 4:
Before proceeding further, take a complete backup of your device and then store it somewhere safe just to be secure.
Step 5:
Now connect your OnePlus 7T to your PC using the USB cable.
Step 6:
Now download the unofficial build of TWRP recovery for OnePlus 7T from here.
Step 7:
Now download the ADB and fastboot drivers for Windows from here and then install it on your PC.
Step 8:
Transfer the TWRP file to the folder where you have installed the ADB drivers and then open a command window inside that folder by holding shift and right-clicking and then selecting an open command window here.
Step 9:
Now type the following command in the command window without the quotes “adb reboot bootloader” to reboot your device to the bootloader menu.
Step 10:
Once in the bootloader, type the following command to install the TWRP recovery on your OnePlus 7T. “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img”
Step 11:
You can now enter the command “fastboot reboot” to reboot your device. Once the reboot is complete, just switch it off and then hold power and volume up button together for a few seconds to boot into the TWRP recovery mode.
Step 12:
Once in the recovery mode, Download SuperSu or Magisk and then transfer it to your device using the USB connection.
Step 13:
All you have to do now is to click on the install option on the TWRP recovery home screen and then select the downloaded zip file from the list.
Step 14:
Once you have selected the corresponding zip file, just swipe to install it on your device and reboot your device.
