In this guide, we will be talking about the top MIUI 13 features. MIUI 13 has been awaited by users for a long time. It is now nearing it’s release and anxious users can’t wait to get their hands on it. Although there is some time before the update is rolled out officially, you can take a look at some of the top MIUI 13 features that will be a part of the much anticipated release. Here we will be taking a look at some of the changes that will be brought with the MIUI 13 update.
MIUI 13 Update
Looking at the update, we can’t really say if it will be one of the biggest updates by far. This is because the Android skin still needs a lot of bug fixes and optimization. But an update is still an upgrade and MIUI 13 will surely be better than the current version. There will be newer features and aspects. But keep in mind that these new features will not be available on every device.
MIUI 13 Features
Below, we have mentioned some of the top MIUI 13 features. So without any further delay, let’s get started:
MIUI 13 wallpapers
An Android OS is not complete without it’s proprietary wallpapers. Wallpapers complete the look of an Android skin and beautify them. One thing we have witnessed over the years is that Xiaomi does not disappoint it’s users in terms of it’s wallpapers.
MIUI 13 comes in with new static and live wallpapers. They have also introduced new crystallized wallpapers that many viewers seem to like.
The new widgets are another visual change that we get to see with the new update. Xiaomi has introduced many new widgets that can be used to carry out various functions as well as decorate your home screen. Many widgets are for system apps and improve accessibility and ease of function.
However, users would have liked it if there were widgets for third party apps as well, but there is not much that Xiaomi can do in the matter and neither can we. But what we can do is hope that there will be widgets for third party apps in the future updates.
MIUI 13 Font
With the new update, a new font will be released with the name MiSans. The font focuses on providing a more minimalist look and be more visual to the eye. But this does not mean that you will not be able to change the font. If you do not like the look of the characters, you will have the choice to change the font.
Coming out of the visual changes, we get to see some changes in the software behind the apps as well. The camera app also got it’s software updated. With the update, users will get to see much faster shutter speed. Further, there is a new added feature called the Shoot with screen off feature. With this feature, users will be able to continue to shoot a video even if the mobile screen turns off. This proves beneficial in terms of saving battery. Now you can also capture motion photos, more commonly known as live photos on your phone using the Dynamic shots feature.
We also get to see a little upgrade for the clock app. If you add your sleep schedule into the application, the app will remind you to go sleep according to your schedule. The app will also keep note of when you are asleep and present you with the daily statistics. If you want to, your morning alarms can also present to you important information when you wake up, such as the news or the weather. The upgrade proves to be a huge improvement for those users who are keen on keeping a proper sleep schedule.
Coming to the Gallery app, there aren’t many changes there except a few. Previously, you had different albums for all of your photos and the photos captured by your camera. But this update introduces a floating button between the bottom of your interface to quickly switch between those two albums. Apart from that, the Recommended section has now been moved to a new tab along with other options such as collage, video editor and clip. Previously these options were under the the 3 dots icon. In addition to these, a new Memories section has also been introduced, similar to the one we see in Google photos.
We also get to witness some improvements in the privacy section. When we talk about face recognition, the camera is subject to much criticism as it can capture other information other than just your face. Keeping this in mind, the Privacy camera was introduced which will just capture your face and is designed to ignore anything else.
The privacy protection lab hosts a bunch of features that help protect your privacy. It includes protection for content on your clipboard and enabling approximate location. Also, it also asks for your permission whenever apps request access to your phone number information. But keep in mind that the availability of all these options and features depend on your device. The addition of these privacy features is a great improvement from Xiaomi.
MIUI 13 comes in with a completely revamped control center. The control center has gotten a new look. But the update itself doesn’t include the new control center. However you can install it easily on your device by downloading and installing the plugin provided below, just like an APK.
