Last year sometime during September, Xiaomi for the very first time revealed MIUI 11 with a few more test trial lineups that include the new Mi TV Pro, Mi Mix Alpha and also the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G. These latest and more advanced versions of the MIUI presented many better-improved visuals along with newer animated AOD and several other advanced features. The company had been presenting numerous Xiaomi devices that were heavily featured with these advancements since the previous couple few months.
Though, towards the end of last month, a post was released from the China chapter if MIUI Community stating that the entity Xiaomi had officially stopped the beta development for MIUI 11. As a result, this created numerous suspensions amongst Chinese tech bloggers who went on to speculate that the company has now drifted their focus towards the development of the premiering next big update for the MIUI 12.
Xiaomi may have Accidentally Leaked its New MIUI 12 UI
Even though the company has yet not confirmed any of these rumors/ speculations that have been circulating though it is being believed that some of this new MIUI 12 UI were unintentionally leaked out through the MIUI Community Forum.
For those who are unaware, it would be interesting for them to know that Xiaomi on a regular basis uploads the beta versions of all their apps on the Chinese MIUI Community forum. Likewise, as a normal practice a few days ago the company went ahead to share an updated version of the MiSettings APK. While going through the latest APK it came to our attention that there were a number of new “Setting Pages” that indeed viewed radically different from the previous counterparts in comparison to the former versions of the app. To better understand, even screenshots have been presented in this content.
Even though to this point, we do not have a full MIUI 12 device that is running or a firmware dump for it but we strongly believe that it would be similar to the new UI that is comprised in the beta version of the MiSettings APK. Most probably it is suspected that a similar UI would be experienced in the new and upcoming releasing MIUI 12. It seems as if Xiaomi had realized the mistake that they made and since then they have gone ahead and removed the new settings pages that were presented in the latest beta MiSettings APK, release.
As shown in the screenshot above the new UI has provided a few major new changes in the design. Which are visible in the Refresh rate settings while also providing the Focus mode which is in the new tab of the “Screen Time Settings”. In the Screen time settings a newer graph style is also presented that provides/ shows a weekly usage. That is not all since even a clearer UI is provided that shows the daily screen time for each and individual apps separately.
A significant finding has also come forth which has been taken into account in regards to the UI changes since they are almost inconsistent which possibly does suggest that this is only a preliminary version. This encounter has strongly presented that most probably Xiaomi intends to alter more changes before releasing the final featuring would be premiered in the MIUI 12.
As examples, the company has gone ahead and removed a majority of the gray elements such as the box backgrounds, the dark mode from few of the pages while it has also added gray elements in the display of the color calibration settings that formerly had no gray background buttons to it.
